P67 NF200 vs no-NF200 SLI/CF

Thread Starter
I know NF200 allows for "virtual bandwidth" 16x16, but is it any better than a P67 board running at 8x8 native? I am just wondering if there is any performance difference between the two if running on a dual card set up.

I don't really want to see results from another motherboard platform. This is strictly 8x8 on a P67 board vs 16x16 on a P67 NF200 board.

The only difference that the nf200 chip makes is in tri-sli setups. With just two cards, it isn't worth it and adds extra latency, I think the performance is actually worse with the nf200 chip.

Thanks, I was also thinking of the latency problem. Does this hold true for the UD7 as well? I remember seeing Sin's review of a P67A-UD7 vs a X58 board and it held identical results for the most part.
http://www.overclock.net/intel-gener...uide-p67a.html
Is the latency issue a quality problem or is it true for all NF200 boards?

For 2 cards, don't even bother with the NF200. It will hurt performance.

For 3+ cards, you need the NF200.

It seems that both the UD7 and the MIVE have worked around the latency problem for 2 cards. (i think both boards just bypass the NF200 when running 2 cards)

So the UD7 is just running 8x8 during SLI/CF? I don't think I'll ever do tri/quad-setups.

I don't know.

I know for sure the Maximus IV does when using 2 cards. Not sure about the UD7 though.

Judging by sin's results, it would say it is 8x8x with 2 cards

and you can't run trifire in any way without the nf200 at 8x4x4x just for the lulz?

Yeah, what I'm saying is I don't want to waste 100+ bucks if I'm paying for just 8x8. Since I'm not doing tri-quads set ups.
Can anyone confirm the 8x8 on UD7? Thats the exact motherboard I'm looking at. Otherwise I'd just get a quality P67 board that supports 8x8.

Sorry if I sound like a complete newb, but yes or no on the 16x16? Seems like the answers no, but I have no idea. Lol
Does PCI 1 and 3 mean you can go 16x16?
