RocketRaid cards are quite good from what I hear. You should be fine with that.

They have their own BIOS on the card, you'll need to boot into that to set up the RAID array.

And you would suggest RAID5 with a hotspare over RADI6 for sure?

raid6 is used for larger raid groups because it's rebuild capability is quicker. So yes, for a raid this size I'd use RAID5
