Is Razer's 3.5g laser THAT bad? - Page 5

If anyone hasn't said already, there are ways to fix it IIRC. I remember reading something about sticking a small piece of duct tape under the sensor that fixes some issues with it. That might be related to lift issues though.

I had an 1800dpi Deathadder (first gen?) and I loved it. I hear people complain about the 3.5G Deathadder though.

It's an LED based sensor just like any optical mouse.
I know that. I meant that the optical sensors that the other companies use is not as good as the sensor which razer uses in the deathadder.

You realize that this statement would only make sense if those people knocked everything as being cheap trash, right? I mean, if I've had three Razer mice crap out on me within 6 months of purchase and I've never had a Logitech or Steelseries product crap out on me, how do you draw that conclusion? Did I conspire to beat up the Razer mice and treat the Logitech and Steelseries products like jewel encrusted gifts from the treasure vaults of Xerxes?

Stupid mother****er alert.

Honestly. At the people who say "no. I dont notice that cause I dont lift my mouse." well, it's all right for you, but what might be fine for you doesnt mean it's fine for everyone.

There are no ear muffs for that.
You can continue bashing it all you'd like. If you read my post I never said the problem doesn't exist, just that for me it's a non issue. Because it's a non issue for me means it works great for me. I'd like you to show me where I run around posting that it'd be the best mouse for everyone...

Seriously, hate on the mouse all you want. But don't run around putting words in my mouth and citing arguments that were never in question. I don't care about how it works for "everyone", I care about how it works for me.

It costs more than the 3G while also being inferior.

I have a Razer Mamba (uses the same laser), and it is pretty good... My mouse recently died though, but I am waiting for it to return from RMA. Razer make some of the most comfortable mice on the market, and I love my Mamba way better than my Logitech G500 (which I am currently using until my Mamba returns). Anyways, you shouldn't have an issue with the laser, it is really good, quick, and responsive, and as long as you like the shape of the mouse, you should be fine.

A4tech X710BH. My Current mainstay which can be had for less than $20 and uses an ADNS3060 sensor.

I know it's pretty off-topic, but I have the A4Tech X7 750BF.

Gotta say that for a budgetish ($60 - I think), it's fantastic.

I've bought a second one for when this breaks... if it does...

In all honesty, people blow things out of proportion.

Yes: the Phillips Twin Eye has lift off problems
Yes: Razer products are generally overpriced and sometimes cheaply made

But tracking issues are selective. If it has tracking issues on cloth mats, then the solution is simple: don't use a cloth mat.

As for the lift off problem, that's all up the individual. I for one don't really experience it at all because I use such a high dpi. As such, I rarely need to lift off my mouse at all. If you're using a lower dpi, say 800, you'll barely notice the slight move.

And my only complaint about the mouse is battery life, so I bought a bigger battery and away I go again.
I was reading up on the shorter battery life thingo yesterday. Some people said that if you're using the 1000Hz polling rate, you'll have a shorter battery time than if you use 500Hz. From what I've tested, this *appears* to be true. However, I'm not sure if it's true for everyone. My three bars last much longer now than they do when I was using 1000Hz. Stepping it down to 500Hz seems to have done the trick for me.
