Mouse lag/stuttering after apply SP1

Thread Starter
As above guys, Since install SP1 my mouse movement is not as smooth with jerks and stutters.

I've tried to update HID compliant drivers in device manager to try and sole the issue but Windows says I have the latest and best.

Any help would be awesome

Are you using a generic mouse? If your using a name brand: Razer, Logitech, etc. Your best bet is to pick up the specific drivers for it.
If generic mouse, get ready to use keyboard commands: Try uninstalling the drivers from Device Manager, disabling the device. Then shutdown and restart the computer. Have Windows re-detect the component to try to get some better drivers.

OR, also check the drivers for the USB controller, those might be out of wack.
Also, try different USB ports.
^^^^Assuming its a USB mouse^^^
IF PS/2 then check drivers for that particular controller. And/Or follow steps above.

I'm having the same issue in SP1, worked fine before SP1. But it only happens for a few seconds after startup

It's probably just loading a bunch of services and other programs, so it's kinda "busy."

Open msconfig and see how many startup items you have.

A true test would be to boot into safe mode, which has next to no startup items, and see if the lag is there as well. If it doesn't, then you know it has to do with startup items or something that is loading and is causing the issue.

Try and remove startup items and let us know how that goes!
