State of affairs

Thread Starter
A few things I wanted to ask/make known, and felt the General Discussion thread wasn't the best place for it.

1) I'm aware that no-one's happy about me not updating for the last few days (neither am I), but Chris isn't able to take up updating with me, and I'm not willing to bring anyone else into it.

As you know by now, both sks72 and hometoast have automated stats systems in the works. We should know whether they're ready later this week, as we move from Feb to March.

2) With the (hopefully) soon release of Client v7, and the FahCore_16 WUs for ATi/AMD GPUs, 5/6 series ATi GPUs may move from Cat2 to the Fermi slot. This isn't definite, and it doesn't matter to most of you (IIRC, only Explosm use that option), but now you know.

3) The poll to decide whether we move to a two-tiered system has ended, and the majority agree that the TC should be split. So, starting from the 1st of March, there will be two TC Divisions, with the top 10 teams in February in the 1st division, and the remaining 8 teams in the 2nd division. Still not sure on how many will be promoted/relegated each month, but it will be either one or two.

4) Due to the CC, and the fact that I think most of us will need a break, there will be no TC during May. Take the month off to work on your OCs, maybe get some watercooling installed, or just take a small break from Folding (small). So, there will be no TC from the 1st May through to the 31st of May. I'll make sure to PM all captains as June comes around again, so they can make sure everyone is ready.

5) And to finish it off, a simple question. Does anyone use this page:
http://www.overclock.net/team-compet...s-misfits.html

And if you do, do you look at anything other than the first 3 sheets (the TC table, Category leaders, and overall points graph)?

I'm certain no-one can understand the daily points graph, but does anyone use the sheets in the 2nd and 3rd post, or are they just taking up space?

1: You've got a life like the rest of us and we can't really expect you to be updating the stats everyday so just threaten the people that are whining . Hopefully the automated stats feature comes out soon and then we won't even have to worry about this issue. Plus I think it'll be a neat feature.

2: Doesn't really apply to us all that much, but will wait and see what happens with v7 and the PPD that the new ATI GPU3 client brings...

3: Nothing new here. Not sure if its going to be one or two either. Two would make it more interesting and make people really scramble for those spots .

4: Figured that would happen anyway

5: Yes I use that page a lot. The only thing I ignore is the "Daily Team Scores" graph because it's a flippin' mess and doesn't really show anything useful. The others can all be useful and I actually use them all for our own TC graphs in our thread.

That's what I'm thinking... but 20% of the divison being replaced every month might be a bit much...

Yeah, the daily graph is useless. Wasn't too bad when there were just 4 teams, but with 18, and the inability to strech GDocs, it's only there since it's more work to actually remove it.

1. We are so incredibly disgruntled I suggest a mutiny.

2. Sounds good.

3. Also fine.

4. Folding break??? Surely this is cause for the apocalypse!

5. As stated above, daily team stats is unreadable, but I do take a look at individual folder stats every time I check out the overall team stats as well.

Thanks for the update!

Interesting stuff ahead, thanks for the continued hard work z

As to the graphs, I only use the first two, the team standings and cat standings

I feel the same way about all of this, and I actually use the other pages/charts a lot too.

"due to the CC"

what is the CC?

anyway, break in may sounds good to me, then i'll have time to get Bulldozer running for June lol... (if it's even out by May)
The chimp challenge is a short race of all teams to see how many points you can achieve. Everyone stops folding under their own name and folds under one team communal name, so the points won't count towards to our own scores. So, OCN vs. Hard vs. EVGA basically...
