So far my Shaman vrm heat sinks are doing fine. From what I have read, thermalright will not release dedicated vrm heat sinks for the 6XXX cards due to lack of interest. I was hoping they would as I also like keeping everything cool. I will say that if you have room the shaman is a great cooler.

So I got my Twin Turbo Pro and MX-4 onto my 6950. Instructions are pretty straight forward, but it's a tight fit nonetheless.

My stock 6950 usually stayed around 45% fan speed in games and idle, fairly audible as well. At load in Kombustor, it'd go well over 65c, nearly 70c at times as well.

Now with the Twin Turbo Pro, I'd see 58c max with dead silence in Kombustor, also the VRAM sinks do a nice job, since usually my vram according to trixx and gpu-z are a few C higher than core temps. But now it's 2-3C less instead. It will exhaust heat into the case, so best to have a side panel fan or a fan inside redirect that hot air outside.

For a ~$30 cooler, it does a great job imo. The cooling won't make too big a difference, but if you get it, do realize it can only cool so far, it's max TDP support is 125W or so. The noise level is the main reason why I got it for.

It will make the card sag a little since I didn't put the backplate back on it, but it's to be expected. It covers about a slot and a half. So going CF/SLI might be a bit difficult with it depending on the motherboard.

Also forgot to mention, the fan is dead silent at full 100% fan speed (2k rpm). They're thin 2 80mm fans, but they do a decent enough job imo.

Can you tell me the exact length of the 6950 with the twin turbo and how did you put it on. Can't find to see any guides around

6950 is stock reference one from Sapphire, card should be about a foot long.
You can get Twin Turbo Pro details here: http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/detail?sArticle=22.%3F

There isn't really any guides, but does come with a manual. It really is no different from say putting it on a 5870 since that has pretty much identical dimensions as a 6950/70.

Does ZALMAN VF3000A work for HD 6950/70? I can get one for 45$ or 60$ for AXP+

Well I assume it might work on a 6950/70 if a TTP can. The only issue really from what I can tell are the mounting holes matching with the cooler, and possible ram sinks(if too tall may need to be filed down).

Do know if you get the AXP, you need to get the VR001(vr001 supports 69xx AMD cards) ram sinks too. AXP is stand alone and really only cools the gpu and not the ram, VR001 costs as much as $8-$10 or so depending on where you look.

[edit] The downside of the VF3000A from what I heard is that it's a bit noisy, it's cooling is good though. For it's price seems to be justified I guess, a decent trade off of cooling to noise.

If I were to stipulate and rank aftermarket coolers for a 6950/70.
Lowest Noise (best to worst): Shaman, AXP, Twin Turbo Pro, VF3000A, Stock
Cooling Performance (best to worst): Shaman, AXP, VF3000A, Twin Turbo Pro, Stock
Price(cheapest to most expensive):Stock (it's free, comes with the card lol), Twin Turbo Pro, VF3000A, AXP, Shaman (AXP might cost more depending on where you get it since you have to get VR001 ramsinks seperately too)

Can you post a picture of your card please. And did you have to buy any ram sinks for the twin turbo plus. I'm really scared that i would f*** up my gpu

No Camera, but TTP does come with ram sinks.
http://www.ninjalane.com/reviews/video/sapphire-6950/page5.aspx = there's some pictures regarding the same 6950 I got.

Only Aftermarket Air gpu cooler that doesn't come with ramsinks is AXP. Shaman, VF3000A come with ram sinks.
