When folding, do bottlenecks with the GPU and CPU reduce PPD?

If I used A GPU that would be bottlenecked by the CPU would I get less PPD?

No. Bottlenecks don't really apply when folding.
Though when using GPU3 clients you should dedicated a core to them.

How bad of a CPU bottleneck are we talking about here?
GPU Folding doesn't really need much CPU power.

Are you sure? Ask Fermi folders if they need to dedicated a core/thread to GPU3.

I am a Fermi folder.
GPU3 folding results in about 13% CPU usage, give or take a couple %. (With a 1298 point WU, P6800)

If the OP SMP folds while GPU folding, then yeah, he will get a PPD hit - no question.
If he's just GPU folding, even a Pentium 4 should suffice I think.
