By Vcore you are meaning CPU Voltage right? Forgive the noob question but I want to be sure as there is no Vcore in my BIOS.

Drop HT to 2000Mhz or as close as possible
this i will agree on....2000mhz is good if your doing superPI run or applications that depends heavily on ram ( correct me if im wrong) but for regular use 1600 or even 1333 with tight timing is better

Ok it seemed to be stable last night but when I woke up this morning I found it had rebooted under the night, so I have now tweaked the ram down (sucks to not use the full 2000mhz but I guess a stable system is preferred : )

In any case, Now I wonder if since I have the ram lowered to 1667 or something like that, what should I reaise/lower to make it more stable, and most importantly less hot.

Thanks for any help! Also is it better to set the DC to Ganged or Unganged in my case? Also I have Loadlevelling or whatever its called set at full in both settings. Should that not be set so?

///Mike.

Ok, since I have given up on the 2000mhz RAM and am now running it on 1600Mhz, I have shifted my approach to this OC and am just trying now to manage the 4ghz OC that everyone says is "a piece of cake" with a 1090T.

I assume that my difficulties lie in the fact that I have 4 sticks of RAM, So I would really appreciate some expert help here. I cant really tell if these settings are stable because I have to shut down due to overtemp (I have CoreTemp adjusted with an offset of +10 degrees as everyone recommends due to some issues with the 1090T temp modules.

This is the subject of question #1. What measurement do I trust? The Sensor of AI Suite II, Coeretemp with the +10degree offset? Some other program? My readings are all different, so I dont know if I actually have a temp problem or not. Currently the system idles at 36 degrees. Is this good/bad or average?

Question #2 is the RAM, I have been advised by popular experts on various OC forums to set my CPU/NB and HTT to 3000, and bump my DRAM voltage from 1.65 to 1.70. This I have done.

After around 10 mins of Prime95 my temps reach 60 degrees which is where I set CoreTemp overheat protection to shut down my machine. Which it does.

If I can trust the AI sensor more then I have a much larger room to prime test as the temp shows considerably lower as you can see in the pictures.

The last thing is that I am sure I put way to little thermal compound on my Noctua D14 after looking at all the serious tutorials on the subject. Can this be my cluprit?

Please help because I have reached a wall where I cant figgure it out by net research further at this point.

do you want to run your rig 4Ghz 24/7
coz for me 3hrs of prime, 3 runs of 3DMark 06 and vantage plus 6hrs of gaming(crysis, COD2, Metro 2033) is enough to tell my system is game stable....
But i guess to some people 24hr prime is 100% stable...

Has anyone else mentioned that your HT Link speed is sky high. Drop it down so that it is between 2000 to 2200. Higher HT Link speeds can lead to instability. I have read that it is OK to have higher HT Link speeds with the X6s but yours seems high.

Of course after I post this I see that in your latest screenshot it is around 2000. Disregard.

Yea I want to run it 24/7 overclocked... but I just had an unexpected reboot.. checking into what caused it now...

I might have to settle for a 24/7 3800mhz clock if this wont stay stabile without reboots.
