Venomous X vs Silver Arrow vs Noctua NH-D14 - Page 4

so is the archon the best push/pull system? I need a cooler to fit my ripjaw x's. So that eliminates the sa. So down to archon and noctua or any other suggestions

VenX would only be an issue if you use 70lbs tension and not 40lbs tension

It's not the best but it's up there as one of the best coolers for sure. The only issue for Archon is the height as many cases aren't wide enough for the cooler to fit in.

I fitted Archon into Antec 900 which is 20.6cm Wide case and should be unable to fit it. So if your case is wider then 21cm it will fit 100%

well im getting the HAF 932, so size isnt an issue. All i want is the best i can get, and the archon with dual fans seems like a great choice.

If you aren't going to be overclocking past 4GHz then either one will suffice, if you'r going above 4GHz then get the noctua as the silver arrow does not transmit the heat fast enough.

Just get the D14 or SA. Forget about the rest unless you have a small case.

I will be overclocking past 4. That is why I want to get the best. So should I just get the noctua? I may replace the fans cuz they are ugly

Skip ahead to about 5:30 minutes to get to testing results.

I just switched over to the SA from the D14...temps are pretty much the same but one thing I gotta say is the D14 is much, much easier to mount and remount. Their fan clips are quite annoying as well, especially when you're trying to add in your fans after you have the heatsink secured. I spent 15 minutes alone trying to get those damn things to hook on my fans..

The Silver Arrow fans are better though and it is much more aesthetically pleasing then the D14.
