[BuildLog] Don't Hassle the HAF-X <Updated> - Page 8

Fantastic build so far, and great update. Thanks for sharing!

I'm watching this build closely as it continues, because I'm in a HAF-X now, just upgraded from a mid-tower case, and I'm going to soon move from my H50 to a full HW-labs GTX xtreme 360 for my 2600k and 6950. I sure hope I'll never have to worry about temps like you're seeing and having to add 3 separate radiators. I don't think I'm hardcore enough to go 3xSLI (or CF) any time soon, and even if I do, I sure hope that 6950s put out less heat than those 580s.

Your rig is killer, and again, thanks for sharing!

Very nice setup. Thanks for the pics. It's really helping me figure out what I need to do to mine.

So far I just need to know if my one Swifttech 655 (variable speed) has enough power to do:

1 - 360 rad
1 - 240 rad
2 - gpu full blocks
1 - cpu block
?? - length of hose

The Silver collar... did that come with it? or is that a separate purchase?

Yea the silver collars come with the Koolance RES.. I'm not sure if the mod kit you linked would work exactly as these collars seem specifically built for the RES and not just a standard pump housing. Nice find tho!

Awww Bummer.. thought I found something new for you to purchase

Okay Septro... back to your Shopping list. I took a stab at putting together what I think you used on your system (just before your most recent update with the 3rd Rad on the back). I'm curious as to how close I came.

I don't have the Tubing (I may go red, but I really, really like what you did with the black), or the 6 x Bitspower Compression Fittings on the list as they are currently out of stock. I also don't have the SUNBEAMTECH PL-RS-6 RHEOSMART 6 FAN CONTROLLER. on the list, yet.
I also couldn't find the acrylic Loopback adaptor for the Koolance reservoir or the silver loopback adaptor you had running between P1-OUT and P2-IN

So, as it stands... I have everything else ordered for the new system with the exception of the Water Cooling Package.

I decided to go with the 3 x EVGA GTX 580 FTW Hydro Copper 2 (So you wont see the GPU cooling blocks and backplates on the list I attached.)

Once I can ascertain what I need for the Water Cooling Package, it'll be time to break out the credit card that's still warm from todays other purchases
and the camera for when I start putting it all together.

I am throughly thrilled and grateful that you documented your build as you did for others to see.

So.... How'd I do?

So after a couple of heavy rounds of Crysis2 - I didn't like the temps I was getting with the RX360 + RX120 to handle the triple sli and CPU loop. Temps were hovering around mid-60s for all components under load so it was time to add another radiator to the loop.

I've been avoiding anything external to the HAF-X to keep a near-stock appearance, but I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered the RX240 for push-pull off the back of the case and use the case grommets to run tubing through.
Heya Mate,
How are your temps looking?

Nice build list - keep in mind tho that if you go straight to triple-SLI and CPU loop that the RX360 and RX120 combo may not be enuf cooling. I was seeing load temps in the mid to hi 60s while playing games. Now that I've added the 240 to the mix - I'm down to about 51-52c under load for the whole loop.

As for the QDCs - I started with them but didn't like the way they looked against the all black fittings I had and I found it just as simple to drain the system by disconnecting the lowest fitting where the RX120 is.

Yeah, that's what Tiny Tom Logan over at OC3D said http://forum.overclock3d.net/index.p...d-i-blame-ttl/
So it looks like I'll be adding the RX240 to my shopping list.

I really am fortunate that you built & posted your system as you have and you're doing all the trouble shooting.
If I didn't see your Build Post I would probably only be running 1 GTX 580 SC.

Have you considered running separate loops? 1 for the CPU and 1 for the GPU?
Do you think you would have anything to gain by doing so?
Or the whole point is to keep it on a single loop?

I hope you get her all dialed in.

heh yeah, I couldn't see them on your photo so I didn't know if you hid it inside the case by the Res.
