[DF/EG] Face-Off: Bulletstorm - Page 4

Bulletstorm runs perfectly on my rig with AA and every thing maxed out. I have yet to encounter a bug and I am on chapter 5 and the game is lots of fun. The only thing is that I think it is NOT worth 60 bucks. I would say a 40 dollar price point would be perfect for this game and the 60 dollars is a blatant money grab. Although it is nice to see a game that doesn't look like crap (I'm looking at you CoD).

I am not willing to pay the full 60 bucks so until it goes on sale it will be on my wishlist as I always support the developers that I want to make more games for my platform... but 60 bucks for a short FPS, no thank you.

You can modify the gameengine.ini file. You need to find a program to decrypt it then when you finish modifying it which includes activating dx10, Higher quality textures, Uncapping the FPS etc...You have to encrypt it back.

Bulletstorm is the first game in a long time I was hoping would never end.

This game's engine is definately a power house but no unreal game can be THAT much of one in this day and age. In Batman: AA i get a constant 60 WITH Vsync. If i change to a resolution that's not divisible by 9 that's what it does... but if it's one of the resolutions the game likes... it runs absolutely flawless even with AA on.

For this reason i have yet to play the game yet. I have only walked around in Grays ship and messed around online a bit. I'm really bummed out as i highly anticipated this release and rushed to get a new setup in time for it. Guess we can wait for a fix... until then i'm gonna have to be at a non-native, yucky 720p i suppose

EDIT: it's looking like the reason it runs horrible at our resolutions is because for some reason at those resolutions it doesn't push your GPU usage past 50-60% where as at other resolutions it can go up to 100% like any normal game. So basically our GPU's are being cut in half by this engine
Yeah, I read the same thing about GPU usage, didn't think 40ish% made that much of a difference with FPS That's really lame, though. Call me spoiled but I can't play a game unless it's above a constant 50 FPS. With everything maxed minus AA being set to 2x I'll have around 43, and it'll randomly drop to low 30s.

Overall, it's an okay game. For some reason I can't bring myself to playing it for more than an hour or so. I don't know, hopefully that'll change because right now I'm sorta regretting my purchase. On the bright side, visually the game is incredible.

I think you just need to get farther. That's how i was til i really got INTO it. Unlock some guns, start opening up the creative window ~ and shoot outside the box. You'll be lovin it i promise

Also, to everyone who says it runs like **** that is not true. It only does at certain resolutions as it won't utilize more than half of your GPU (so if your gettin 30 fps you should be getting 60 fps) but i'm now playing it @ 720p w/ 8xAA and i gotta say it's a beauty. I thought non-native res's sucked all this time but truth is with the AA, it looks straight smooooth.

I promise though that it's more than an OK game... and i could see where people are coming from with it being a $60 purchase but that's why you just buy a key on the cheap and viola! Who uses discs anymore, really? It's one of those games that makes you say OMG at almost every turn... after playing the demo i was kinda scared about the variety of skillshots but with the environments, guns and events they keep it very varied. In my book anything that can have me picking my jaw up off the floor is definately a lil more than OK

If they released a patch for the resolution issues I'd be like a kid in a candy store. Maybe I'll bump it down to 1280x720 and play it in windows mode.
