Well, I finally pieced together my build last week, after all the parts arrived.

These are the parts that were purchased for around $700 total off of NewEgg
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 3.2GHz

8GB (2x4GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3-1333 RAM

(I also got Biostar's Bio-Remote "1" off of their eBay shop for $15 bucks to replace the iffy Hauppage remote)

Interesting...
but I bet I could've suggested better performance memory for cheaper
And a better video card, nowadays with new cards out, the 5750 would be an unwise investment...

I had a fairly finite budget (around $750), and as much as I wanted a 58XX or a 6000 series Radeon HD, it just wasn't in the cards. Besides, it's light-years better than what I had before (an NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT) and can play Half-Life 2: Lost Coast at a very decent frame rate. In addition, a CPU with an unlocked multipler and no disabled cores/caches was a dealbreaker.
