High 70's? These cards are nothing to worry about until you get past 85C. OP, you're ok.

The problem is with only a few tabs open it will hit 54C with the stock fan profile. Now I can make my own profile and keep it at like 50C but thats with 40%-50% fan on. I have my side panel off right now so it's getting alot of air and even with it one it has a huge 230mm fan right at the GPU. The lowest it usually idles with nothing open and the stock fan profile is 45C, and with my fan profile I can get it to 42C.
Things like Youtube, anything involving video and stuff like that will increase the GPU temperature. 45-42 when nothing is open sounds normal.

My gut feeling says it is MSI AB issue. Uncheck 'apply OC at startup' from MSI Afterburner. Restart your comp. Go to CCC and put your clocks back to default, which will be 800/1250. Restart comp again. And then test.

As for temps, I am guessing by stock profile you mean 24% fan speed. Yeah - that will show you some high temp. Use MSI AB just to create a fan profile to keep temperatures to your liking.
