Yeah if it is not the graphic card's whinig when getting massive frames per seconds. like in the 100 to 200's and up. and is the psu, then rma it for sure.

That should handle that load NO PROBLEM at all.
You can have two 480's on the power supply.

Right, which is why I'll be doing that.
But I'm curious to know how much headroom I have exactly with 2x280's and an i7. I'm putting this all on water for temp reasons (A05N is a toasty case), and knowing how much power I'm drawing will let me decide how much I can OC.

GTX280 is a ~200W card, so all in all you would draw 600W, max.

You will not be limited by your PSU, you'll be be able to overclock as much as you want/can.
