i5 760 @ 4ghz Asus ROG HTPC

Thread Starter
I'm running stable at 60c. I think I found got get an aftermarket cooler that will fit. I don't know where to post my question? I dropped my RAM down to 1066 C9 (should it be C7?) and bumped the multi to 21. Is this a better choice then raising dimm to 1800 (or 1866) and dropping the multiplier down? Oh, how do I validate and post?

thanks and hello

1066?? You got your cpu haulin' ass and your ram really slow.

If your ram can run at 1800 why not.

I assume you game on that with the 460. If not then there is no need for that OC.

Btw welcome to OCN!

Well not in full screen. I like to have tv, video, streaming video, some browsers, d/l'ing stuff and a game. I've only played prince of persia and some ther freebies. I prefer car and motorcycle racing.

I haven't figure out the right combination with ram at 1800-2000. I've been using the bios and software to tune the OC for me. I was only able to get to 3.6ghz with the ram at 1800.

Oh, it's on my desk. I prefer the small box for space and the challenge. It's not in the living room under the tv as i'd be better off with a PS3 for just games and Bluray.

I think I need to go to the store and replace the fan. It's holding at 61c (for now) but I get weird spikes on CPU temp and PCH. I think I need to tweak and do amnual settings instead of auto. Ok, RAM is now steady at 2000mhz.
