what should i do with this old beast?

Thread Starter
XFX 7900 GT 256. here's my dilemma. i am in the process of building a sandy bridge, but won't be able to get the gpu i want (560 ti or 570) till april. now my cpu is a i5 2400, which has video built in. so do i use that or the 7900 till hold me over. i realize i won't be able to play games from the last 5 years or so, but just wondering which gpu would be best as a temporary gpu for basic things on a 1080P hdtv. thanks

just found this thread. is it worth trying? http://www.overclock.net/faqs/88174-...d-dummies.html

It should be fine for any basic media. You'd be able to play games up until about 2007 with pretty decent settings also.

Edit: As for that mod, I would not try it because its not going to land you anything extremely beneficial. Also, you may mess up your card and be screwed.
