i'll give a try.

QPI/DRAM = the voltage u need to get higher clocks or tighter timmings. (NOTE: THIS VOLTAGE IS NOT RAM VOLTAGE.)
Higher frequencies usually have high timmings.

Raising QPI, u can tight the timmings, or raise the "mhz"

so the closer the timings the better the memory?

9-9-9-24-2N memory is slower than a 8-8-8-20-1T memory
remember, reducing the timings, ask for higher QPI voltage.

i said QPI voltage, not QPI frequency. But, if it's working, no problem
if u want, u can try reducing to 7-7-7-18...you can play with this numbers...
almost all combinations are possible, if your pc won't boot, raise just one 7 to 8 : 7-8-7-18...get it?

Try 7-8-7-20-1T without fiddeling with the QPI Voltage. If it's stable - great . if not - Raise QPI Voltage by a notch or two.

You do realize it is just for fun and results of tighter timings aren't really noticeable in anything but benchmarks? Also faster is better than tighter. If you can get it to run 1800mhz. with stock timings it would be better.
