Edit: someone please answer its literally driving me insane and i just want to punch it because there is NOTHING wrong with it.

Check task manager for a process or processes that are using a lot of CPU usage, or more than they normally would. The Windows search indexer was using 50% of my CPU, and I had to fix it by rebuilding the cache completely.

Well, the first step would definitely be to check the running tasks.

If you're on XP and theres way more than ~60 tasks, then that just means that you're either packing a buncha viruses or you've got too much software thats running in your background.
If you're on Vista or 7, anything over ~70 is unusual.

To fix this problem, you can do one of three things:

1) Uninstall programs that you don't use using add/remove programs located in your Control Panel

2) Reinstall your system. Sometimes it is worth it instead of digging through add/remov programs and uninstalling tons of useless toolbars. Also this is the only way to be sure that you are destroying any viruses ;]

3) If you absolutely need all of your software and you know your computer is clean as a whistle, hit WindowsKey + R , or navigate to start menu and then Run... and open type "msconfig"
In this window, the startup tab is a very useful tool when cleaning up your computer.
This window shows every tiny program that is started by Windows when you turn on your computer. In safe mode most of these aren't even started which would explain why the computer runs much smother in safe mode.

Now here, you can go ahead and uncheck any programs and processes that you know are suspicious or may slow down your computer.
They can be anything from viruses, to tool bars, or simply useless updates that you do manually anyway.

Enjoy! Hope this helped ;D

already know all that stuff, in safe mode it runs PERFECT, i have it checking system file right now, it couldnt even install glary utilities for checking registry, i did bare bones startup and it ran just fine, but it didnt have internet and didnt have aero, and when i went to install glary in safe mode it said "Unable to register the DLL/OCX: Regsvr32 fail with exit code 0x5" with C:\\Windows\\system32\\msscript.ocx so hopefully itll help it MBAM found 1 malware and it removed it besides that ive never had any problems or anything i have no idea whats wrong if it isnt the registry or file system

Edit: got glary to run, ran it fixed stuff but now it wont even boot.

great. startup repair is looking for probelems, can anyone send me a link to Windows 7 Pro x64 DVD iso download? Laptop didn't come with a disc.
