The only trouble is... I still find myself closing apps, my memory management habits are not dying.

Its crazy. I ask myself why am I closing all of this stuff to run a game...

I find myself doing this out of habit as well.

Also, I forgot to add, if my motherboard was not limited to 4GB, I would be running 16GB right now. (4x4GB)

well as the poll asks. I have to answer 0. I don't have onboard ram. I have ram sticks, of which I am using about 5gb out of 8gb total.
This poll is a piece of garbage. It's left out the Windows users who optimize their systems to use less than 500MB of RAM. My hard disk doesn't even have 500MB of space!

Right now, my computer is using about 8MB of RAM. Where's the option for that?

1.5 for normal use, searching the web with the zune player open, steam running in the background.

2-2.5 while gaming. I rarely see it go over 3gbs, some games like GTA IV eat ram for breakfast.wink.gif

EDIT: You should close other apps/programs to save CPU cycles during gaming..We're at a point where we have more then enough ram.
