Honestly, what manufacturer doesn't throw a crap load of thermal compound on something being actively cooled? I have yet to see anything. There is a reason why the first thing most of us here with a new graphics card is remove that crap. Same with laptops if you're willing to.

You say that as if 1700$ is a good deal.

Besides there are plenty of options available from Sony, Asus, HP, Samsung and others that will get you a laptop just as nice, you just have to open your eyes and empty all that apple brainwashing trash in your head.

Funny thing is 98% of the people in my Cinematography class have macbooks. I doubt more then half of them even know what OSX is, they probably all have no idea what an operating system is.

I was even talking to my film prof and he didn't know that Final Cut Pro was mac exclusive or that Adobe Primer Pro was available on anything other than Mac.

I can't imagine editing video on a laptop, but thats what these people do with their macbook's.

My Thinkpads and ATI cards all had proper thermal paste applications. Just enough. The only ones where I had thermal paste "improperly applied" were my Apple MBP and Nvidia cards. Way too much. Go figure.

There are around 500,000 employees at the "city" of facilities where Apple stuff is made. There were 14 deaths due to suicide and 18 attempts in 2010, that's less than .003%.

Terrible that people felt the need to resort to such measures but for that amount of people in one area/'city' it's not even a blip compared to most US cities some I doubt even hit 500,000 in population.

I'm really surprised that QC issues have become a problem with some big tech companies...Intel, then APPLE? Yikes...

One isolated incident of a stripped screw hardly counts as QC issues.

You mean those Foxconn boards they use in their XPS systems which have all solid capacitors rated at 105*C; and Japanese made.

You also must mean those Apples that use standard Elec-Alum capacitors on their Foxconn boards.

For that matter... Foxconn must be bad because they released the Blood Rage.
They also released the Blood Iron.
