Thread Starter

I don't think it need to be powered

And for box i don't know if it were opened all was on right place.
But becouse it don't have Sennheiser seal (foam) under box is strange
All is same except that seal (foam)

And for music test i will try this
http://www.overclock.net/sound-cards...-download.html
Or download other music test but i don't think so sound will be different as from internet radio

Yeah, doesn't look like it need to be powered.

RMA the headphones.

Why would you possibly think the headphones are "fake?" Did you buy these off some shady character on the street for 5 bucks? Where did you buy these headphones from? If you bought them from a reputable store I can assure you they're not "fake."

SPDIF is for optical, yes.

Did you install all the drivers? Did you properly install the sound card in the correct slot? PCI-E x1 or X16? Did you give the card power?

Because I HAVE heard of there being some fake 598s out there, I really have to know if you bought this on craigslist, ebay or some shady person. If you did chances are it may very well be fake.

If the headphones are giving you a headache after 10 minutes, maybe you should try turning down the volume instead of destroying your ear drums unless the sound is so horrible that it's sending an annoying high pitch noise into your ear canal and raping your ear.

NMI.
What's the visual difference between fake and original HD 598?
