OCN Special Ordered Gentle Typhoon 2150's

Thread Starter
When and how will we know when or even if these fans will be ready for ordering from TankGuys or whoever?
Will there be some banner ad like the duck for the Duckie Keyboards?
Will a mod mass mail everyone who has been patiently (or anxiously) awaiting the final word on these fans?
Several people had already given up and started cancelling their pre-orders because of lack of info before the thread was abruptly closed. There are many more people that can afford these fans than the keyboards and have been waiting a lot longer.
If the deal has been cancelled then someone needs to make an announcement.
I don't even know if my final request for a dozen of the complete fans was noticed or not. Last time I checked, the tote board still had me listed for just 6.
After all the work that was put into trying to set up this deal then there should be some ongoing news about it even if replies aren't accepted to any news posts about what is or isn't going to happen with them.
I'm sure that I'm not the only one wondering what is or isn't going on. I guess I'm just the first to mention it.

Apparently chipp needs to finish the process. I assume since OCN is middleman for this, he'd have to sign off on everything that happens at this point. I'm getting pretty impatient about it, since we were in the position to start a final orders call/confirmation and open a payment window a while ago. It's going to take long enough to get these fans over to buyers, I don't see why it should be delayed further. Not to mention I'm still not entirely sure about a lot of the information, so I don't know if I actually want to buy anymore. In short, it seems "official" OCN involvement has caused this to lag quite a bit, which makes me not so happy. If there isn't some progress (or, in case of cancellation, actual news) I'm just going to order other fans. Opening another buy to allow people who want their stuff faster w/o OCN involvement would be fine with me, too.

Yeah, I've been checking everyday since Chipp posted that payment info should be coming soon. I think it's been about a week since then? Any info on it would be appreciated.

It's been longer than a week...I'm also close to just getting different fans...I have a 2500K rig just sitting around collecting dust...
Even after the order is placed its going to take at least a few months to get them made, shipped, delivered, and re-shipped to individuals. If you're waiting to finish a build with these fans expect to wait a long time.
This is stupid. When Therionx was in charge we got an update a day. I'd start my own buy without OCN involvement if I wasn't sure they'd kill it immediately. In another week I won't be able to wait... have builds I need fans for that I can't delay if this isn't going through.

I'm stuck simply because I want 20+ of the 2150's and sourcing someone who has that many AP-15's looks to be a pain! So whichever comes first I guess? frown.gif

I still could use a dozen complete but I don't know what's going to happen either.
If they'd stuck to the original OP then I think this deal would've been done. The OP was originally for complete fans only. I don't have any idea where it started out about fans without connectors. They should've just let the OP stand as it was instead of leting this deal be completely ruined because of someone trying to save a few bucks. They just screwed it up for everybody. I hope they enjoy the money they saved.

The fans were never settled to be anything. Therionx looked into it and found details as he could. Originally, PWM was to be sought. Then he found out it was going to take almost a year to get PWM GT 2150s. Then he found out the added price for connectors ($5/fan) is literally just for the connectors (which cost less than $0.01 each). Then he found out the fans are ready to go, but without tach sensors. To add tach sensors would take ~2 months. Thus, the decision was made to have two separate buys. One for those who don't mind bare bones and thus get theirs ASAP, or roughly 3 weeks to ship to distribution, then whatever turnaround times. The ones who really wanted the tach sensors or were too lazy to do the pins themselves could get them complete, which would take 10+ weeks to distribution, plus whatever turnaround. This delay has nothing to do with this decision. It has solely to do with OCN involvement requiring a sign-off on all activity, thus being delayed due to Chipp's inability to address it.

Also, in what world is $80 a few bucks? You would have saved $30, going by current spreadsheet, while I stand to save $80. Tsumi stands to save $150. If you're going to cover my difference, I'd be happy to just get complete, and I'm sure most would. Of course, you'll also have to compensate the 7 week difference between delivery, as well. I'll let you figure out how to do that.
