How well will this AMD build work?

Hello. I am trying to build a computer that will encode and render my videos quickly.

I plan on using programs such as Adobe After Effects CS5 & CS4, Adobe Photoshop CS5, & Sony Vegas 10 Pro. I record, edit, and render, videos recorded with an HD PVR. I need something that is going to render my videos at a decent speed, that won't cost a fortune.

*NOTE: This PC will NOT be used for gaming!*

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section. I'm new here. =/

Total Cost: $888.92

i think it should do fine, but i think you might be able to do a little better on your psu and hdd. you can run that system on a good 550w psu.

I was thinking I could go smaller on the PSU. But I wanted a little extra to be on the safe side. How could I do better on the HDD?

If I were you, I would cheap out on a case. There are alot of nice cheap 50 dollar cases.

Try and drop down the PSU, here is a great one sale that can run that build fine:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371030

I would try and use the money you saved and get another HDD or two for a raid setup.

Also, the cooler was a good move, and its a great one at that ( I have one comming in the mail right now ) but its not needed if your not overclocking. The stock cooler will do fine.

The reason I went with that case is because of the reviews it is getting on how good its airflow is. I expect my rig to get pretty hot after rendering a few videos. But then again, I'm not sure how much better that CPU will perform compared to my Core 2 Duo @ 2.0 Ghz.

Im trying to keep it as cool as possible. My room doesn't have any windows (I live downstairs) so the airflow in and out of my room isn't too great. Also, I do plan on OC'ing it to around 4 Ghz if my setup will allow that.

your set up will depend on your memory and cpu cooler. the 212+ will allow a good oc,but i highly doubt 4ghz.....maybe 3.8ghz.
