[Amazon] Evga GeForce GT430 1GB Graphics Card for $59.99 FS - Page 3

It's a solid physx card. A GTS450 would have a larger impact on performance (at a much higher price), but the GT430 will certainly help. It's much stronger than an 8600GT in terms of general computational power and physx processing.

So a 430 is much worse than a 5770.

Hmmm I see... I really want a minimum card that is fully able to take care of physx, along with my gtx 460 as my primary...

Also, would this gt430 be better as a physx card than a 9800gt?

I would only buy this card for 29.99 shipped. It sucks even though its based on Fermi.

If your are needing a HTPC card there are cheaper options that are better like the 5450/5550

Thanks,
The x3x will always be an entry level (non-gaming or barely) nvidia card just like the x3xx used to be with nvidia and still is with AMD.

Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) - continued

ATI Radeon 4870X2In AMD/ATI’s notation, the notation is as follows:

1. First digit: The series to which GPU belongs, for example for a 4850, the card is in 4000 series.
2. Second digit: Product category (segmentation). 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 point to entry-level cards, 5, 6 and 7 point to mid-range and 8 and 9 point to high-end.
3. Third and fourth digits: Relative performance. For example a 4870 GPU is a better performer than 4850 GPU.

Obv.. that gets you in the ball park. And its not like last years top of the line suck in comparison to this years midrange gaming. They are still better. That sounds like educated fact, not ignorance, to whoever said that in their actual ignorance.

Other than the word “Fermi”, performance should not associate with GT430. It should be named as GT230. With that says, it runs cool and draws less power (max 49w, even the silly GT220 at 70w) so it is a good one for Physx or HTPC.

Link for some numbers.

Bought this a few weeks ago for my HPTC. Specifically for FP 3d bluray > output to 3d TV. Works flawlessly.
