I think is temps and how the specific chip was made, the GO can do 3.6ghz with good cooling and Voltage i had one before.

I really dont even know if i am stable. No bsod realted to the cpu for the year ive had the rig, but i dont care for doing a prime test more than half an hour.

What? pretty much any early Go will hit 3.6 with ease, without too much volts, dont forget these are 65nm so they can take 1.5 without shi***ng
(I mean Bricking) themselves.

As for the OP,so you have a B3? try upping your volts to 1.5 in bios(anywhere between 1.5-1.6) should be ok If your cooler can keep up.1.43 is not enough for 3.6.

1.43 is conservative for a 65nm. Your B3 is likely chip limited as your mobo is plenty capable and unless you're letting it get stupid hot a Mugen II with 2 fans is decent cooling for this chip.

I can get 3.6 on my Q6600 G0 but the only thing which makes it unstable is the high temps increase so fast when I run stress tests and its hard from the country I live in even I have a good cooler unless I go water.

Q9550's are better since they are easier to overclock plus run cooler than the Q6600 take note that the Q6600 is one of the first quad cores and the Q9550 is one of the last quad core 775 processors.

I run a 3.6Ghz OC 24/7 for over 3 months now. I do everything from heavy gaming (BFBC2, max settings, 1920x1080) to CPU intensive video post processing.

I achieved this stable OC using these settings on my signature hardware.

AI overclock tuner: manual
CPU ratio setting: x9.0
FSB Freq: 400

DRAM Static Read Control: disable
DRAM Read Training: disable

CPU Voltage: 1.475v
CPU GTL Reference: Auto
CPU PPL Voltage: 1.56v
FSB Termination Voltage: 1.40v
NB Voltage: 1.34v

CPU Spread Spectrum: disable
C1E Support: disable

But what temps do you get?

My motherboard isn't good for overclocking so its one reason.

I get an idle average of ~45C and a max load average of ~65C. I occasionally see temps of ~70-75C during 100% maximum CPU load but it lasts only a moment.

That's really good. I get 40 on idle @ 3.2Ghz I don't know why. I don't touch the NB voltage but I guess what people say is its better to up the NB volts if you don't want to go further with the core volts. Is it true?

i also have a B3. (sig rig)
my idle temps are high 20's with ambient temp high teens.

i have my B3 @ 3.3GHz and i haven't really tried to go higher.
afaik the difference between 3.3 and say 3.6 is only around 3-5 extra fps
this isn't worth it for all the extra temps.

on a proper run using intel burn test, using custom ram (using free ram only)
my max temps are 74.C but this is after 1hr.
also with 40-42 gflops. this is important as with lower gflops you get lower temps.
also what tjmax are you using?
i may be wrong but a B3 is 90 while a G0 is 100

i am not snobby about stabilty, but there is some on this and other forums who say that an overclock is not stable until it passes 8 hrs of prime or 50 passes of intel burn test.
but if you are not crashing while playing games etc.. then who really cares?

tbh that is a very high idle temp. what are your ambient temps?
you only get the 75.c for a minute, or is that you stopping the test?
