tbh that is a very high idle temp. what are your ambient temps?
you only get the 75.c for a minute, or is that you stopping the test?

As I play a game or use a CPU intensive program the amount of load on the CPU fluctuates and so do my temps. If I am seeing temps in the range of 70-75C it is only for brief moments of high load during say an intense fire fight in an FPS or running large batch filters on photoshop. It is never a sustained max temperature.

My sustained max average is in the 60-65C range.

i also have a B3. (sig rig)
my idle temps are high 20's with ambient temp high teens.

i have my B3 @ 3.3GHz and i haven't really tried to go higher.
afaik the difference between 3.3 and say 3.6 is only around 3-5 extra fps
this isn't worth it for all the extra temps.

on a proper run using intel burn test, using custom ram (using free ram only)
my max temps are 74.C but this is after 1hr.
also with 40-42 gflops. this is important as with lower gflops you get lower temps.
also what tjmax are you using?
i may be wrong but a B3 is 90 while a G0 is 100

i am not snobby about stabilty, but there is some on this and other forums who say that an overclock is not stable until it passes 8 hrs of prime or 50 passes of intel burn test.
but if you are not crashing while playing games etc.. then who really cares? wink.gif

Lol thankyou....someone who finally realizes how pointless prime is.

Yeah im using the mugen 2 with one fan but my case has great airflow. Im sitting under 60c on the first core which is the warmest. Im defragging. Downloading need for speed world and updating BC2 aswell as running vuze torrent program and surfing the web which is using about 80-90 of the processor...like i said under 60
