Clear CMOS before BIOS update?

I'm going to have a bash at updating my BIOS. I believe the new 1.8 for the GD65 out now and has some additional OC features. Only thing is, I've never done a BIOS update before and I've heard there are issues with the 1.8. I want everything to go as smoothly as possible. I've been told to return everything to stock before I try and update. Is this true and would hitting the CMOS button reset everything to stock?

Well I would generally say write down your settings, but I know you just OC it the other day and not sure if your stable or not.
I was told never to flash on overclocked settings so a simple clear CMOS would be a good idea.

Might be for the best. The B2 version is riddled with problems for some people.
