Not if you get a good controller, like a Aquaero 4/5 with poweradjust for lots of fans.... smile.gif

According to the spec sheet for the Aquaero controllers the Aquaero 4 does 0.8A per channel which works out to about 9.6W. Since the AP-31 fan takes 13.68W to power it, that controller wouldn't be good enough. The Aquaero 5 does 1.65A per channel, so around 20W (19.8 to be exact) and that would be enough to do 1 fan per channel for a total of 4 fans.

Now a controller like this one is 30W per channel, so you can connect 2 fans to each channel for a total of 8 fans.

Yeah I know that...... That is why I said "with power adjust for lots of fans"

you can add as many of those things as you want.

Thanks, Sir Overkill.

Oh wow... I thought the amps listed on FrozenCPU was the startup current but that is actually the running current. The startup current is 2.69A according to the spec sheet. That means you need a controller with a whopping 32.28 watts per channel!

I would assume if you had a quality 30W controller that it should be fine but if you get a cheap one that initial burst of current might blow it out. And that is just 1 fan! Hahaha.

Aren't those controllers a little over the top?? I get the same fan control with my Sunbeam PL-RS-6 Rheosmart controller. Its 30watts per channel also, just no RPM or other data info.

Yeah it is over the top, but you can add alot of extra stuff. Like the power adjust for extra channels and lots of other stuff.

Thanks, Sir Overkill.

P.S Does an yone know of a even better fan controller? money is not a issue.
