Should I SLI? - Page 3

Save for a New card. It would be your best choice right now.
yes, it is godly. i can fold 20% faster than a 300$ GPU (GTX 570) and it only cost me 250$ over the past 6 months

you will need a 650w PSU with 650w on the 12v rail minimum

I have gtx 465 in sli. It's hot (temp). Unless you plan to run 3D it'd be better to save for a nicer card.

it depends on the board and card and case, I fold at 60C on both my 460s

TBH I think the 460-768mbs are the best deal around right now, you can destroy a 570 for about $220 and they run cool and clock like nuts

GTX 460 SLI is a very powerful setup at 1080p. It is >= the performance of a single 580 depending on the game. I doubt you'll have any problems with the games you listed.

Nope, I moved my card to a x4 slot to space them out and lost like 2-4 fps if any. There is virtually no difference going to x8 and a 1-2% loss going to x4.

You would be fine and I get similar fps with my 580 now to when i had my 460's both at 875 core.

I read somewhere that a 4x PCIe lane will only bottleneck a 480 by a couple of frames per second, so a 460 shouldn't be bottlenecked at all, I'll see I can find the article. I would go for the 460 SLI in terms of Price/performance it is definitely worth it.

Do you care about silence? If you do, then it's not going to be alright. Run your card at 100% fan right now, then double the noise of it.

Of course, you can drop an extra $112 on two of these if it's not.
