Elpida Hyper Questions

Thread Starter

Hi everyone, I'm looking into buying a set of elpida hyper's and I've been offered my choice of one of these two sets:
Option 1 for $200CAD

Are elpida hypers worth the extra cost or should I just get some high clocking RAM that uses one of the newer IC's?

Out of those two the supertalents should be better. I don't have any experience with hypers myself, but if you feel the performance justifies the price then go ahead and buy them, because hypers are the best you can get.

Get the SuperTalents. I've got the 2200 CL8 kit and they're awesome (Same ICs)! 1800 CL6 with the stock 1.65v.

I think the cost depends on what you want to do with the computer. For a daily rig, I'd get some average ram. If you are into benching, then I'd get the hypers. No point in paying for hypers if your aren't going to utilize them.

Who says they're Hypers?
I had a set of those S. Talent 2000s C8 (not Hypers, they haven't been available in many months) and one stick went. That was a month ago and I'm still waiting for my replacements. They tell me they have no 2000 stock to send me. BS.

there is no way they are not hypers, there have never been any memory chips that can do ddr3-2000 with 8-8-8 timing other than hypers.
either your cpu sucks or you dont know what your doing.
