Until ACTUAL games come out to support it, all you get is exactly this

exactly why the Kinect has sold so much for no real reason. You buy it, play a few games once or twice, and never really touch upon it again or at least frequently as you would anything else.

Im not saying Kinect isn't a good product or doesnt have potential. But there is just nothing for it. Just because it sold alot means jack diddly squat. And it isnt like M$ has anything coming out for the Kinect worth mentioning. The only REAL game getting support with it as of right now is Forza, and even that is stupid - it just gives you head tracking. Nothing new or worth $150 for.
I do agree for the most part. But I did get to play some PS Move with a Sorcery demo and it was pretty sweet. But I don't see myself actually using the Move like people do the Wii. I know Kinect is pretty much the same as PS Move.

What I do think is a gimmick (maybe because I wear glasses?) is 3D TV/Gaming.

When I read this... One thing came to mind.. my friend that buys all special edition xbox360s and considers himself hardcore... still same game... no performance increase... he could of had a PC that raped mine easily with all the money he spent.. and still use Xbox360 controller -_-

A hardcore gamer who loves NES games is just as much as a hardcore gamer who plays Crysis and stuff on the PC imo. The fact that gamers can't just get alone with gamers just because of their platform of preference is plain sad. Gaming is a universal thing - there shouldn't be any reason why there is so much immaturity and hate towards one another.
For years, I never had a problem with console gaming. I was never really big on it, although I've owned my fair share over the years, and obviously have played on them with friends on many occasions. They had some cool exclusives for sure - in fact I dare say that probably half my favorite games of all time were console exclusive or at least console first. Hell, I'm about ready to buy a 360 just to play Forza Motorsport 3 and 4, which is easily one of my favorite racing series to date.

What I do have a problem with is when they start interfering with my primary method of enjoying games. When developers start abandoning the version I truly care about to cater to a larger audience that (let's be honest) is easily swayed by marketing. Most of the games I've been excited about over the past few years have had problems because they were designed for consoles first - they could have been astounding games if a little more thought had gone into their controls, UI, and graphics, but instead they were made for the lowest common denominator and then just made to "work" on my platform of choice.

As long as this is the case for modern games, I will always harbor some measure of ill will towards consoles. I feel this is perfectly justified, since they have directly and measurably had an impact on my enjoyment of games on the platform I prefer.

This thread proves what's wrong with PC Gamers. [in general]

Too many elitist views. I honestly don't own a console, nor ever plan to, but they have their place, and there are hardcore players on every system, whether it be MarioKart on the DSi, Halo 3, BF2 etc.

Get over it, just because you own a $3k system doesn't make you any more "hardcore" than the next guy.

Move is a different story though. Move has many more uses in a game than Kinect does, its more accurate, and it ACTUALLY has twice as many games available to play it with besides something like Kinectimals that are actually decent as well as full sized games like Killzone 3.

Kinect simply has a barebones proprietary library with little to nothing worth noting. Hell, Fighters Uncaged for example doesnt even work. You get more response from playing boxing on Wii Sports by swinging your Wiimote around with no purpose than you do actually trying in Fighters.

I do agree that in many cases, consoles do tend to bring down games. They lead to unfavorable changes in alot of cases due to limitations. Though, that's not something you blame console players on. They're not the ones making the games or the consoles themselves. They're gamers like you and me, no different in that regard. Majority of console players have no idea that PC gaming has so much more going for it and the fact that consoles can tend to hold back the potential PC gaming has alot. It's not their fault and to sit there on internet forums "flaming" them is useless nonsense.

Thats more like it. Exactly. You could be just as much of a "hardcore gamer" as the next guy playing Mario games all the time on the Wii. One's passion for gaming shouldn't be frowned on or excluded or flamed upon because they have a preference or simply cannot support something like a super GPU powered PC.

If what you said above is true, your saying that if I ask every person I know that has a Kinect and uses it for gaming they're gonna say that they don't use it, and it was a waste of money? Now that doesn't seem right to me does it? Do you know how many families use Kinect during parties, family gatherings, etc. A LOT.

My family uses my Wii when we together, we even bring it on our family vacations. I do not own Kienct so we use the Wii, but if we had Kinect we would use that.

from the ones I know personally, and everything I read online - I've yet to hear from a single person they enjoy using their Kinect for what it was worth aside from initial use and from people who hail Kinect as being the greatest piece of hardware to ever grace gaming for some reason just because of games like Kinectimals that is. Oh and children.
