So... that makes a "hardcore console gamer" a person who over-indulges in less complex games that require less skill and less learning that have been trimmed down to run on hardware that's been out of date for nearly half a decade. Sorry, but everything in there doesn't seem to point to anything hardcore. Sure, you can call them avid gamers, obsessed gamers, stupid gamers or just call them console gamers, but I hardly think the 'hardcore' label applies to anything about console gaming except how much you no-life in front of a TV. Yeah, that much is hardcore, but I wouldn't call it hardcore gaming. lol
Couldn't have said it any better. Like I said many times before, COD used to be a hardcore WWII FPS, well hardcore in the sense that it was a lot more then it is now. But they "tuned" it for that audience. Until they stop oversimplifying games and making them noob friendly then it's not "hardcore" by any means.
Can someone name ONE realistic game in the FPS domain that trys to simulate real combat, that is available on console? Nope, didn't think so.
