Well this conversation/argument has lasted a long time. I'll end with saying that you can be a hardcore gamer with whatever you play on, and what you play. And Omgea I feel that Kinect will be used by more people later on as more games start to come out. Good talking to all of you, I'm out. wave2.gif

Consoles are holding back PC gaming and have been for some time. They're dumbing games down and they're making them more simplistic, they're not pushing new boundaries.

So... that makes a "hardcore console gamer" a person who over-indulges in less complex games that require less skill and less learning that have been trimmed down to run on hardware that's been out of date for nearly half a decade. Sorry, but everything in there doesn't seem to point to anything hardcore. Sure, you can call them avid gamers, obsessed gamers, stupid gamers or just call them console gamers, but I hardly think the 'hardcore' label applies to anything about console gaming except how much you no-life in front of a TV. Yeah, that much is hardcore, but I wouldn't call it hardcore gaming. lol

And I agree completely. But that's if games do start to come out, which is hopefully.

according to Google hardcore is just somebody that is "intensely loyal" .. so i say if you play lots of games and game series then your hardcore... even if i think shooters on consoles are disadvantaged

Couldn't have said it any better. Like I said many times before, COD used to be a hardcore WWII FPS, well hardcore in the sense that it was a lot more then it is now. But they "tuned" it for that audience. Until they stop oversimplifying games and making them noob friendly then it's not "hardcore" by any means.

Can someone name ONE realistic game in the FPS domain that trys to simulate real combat, that is available on console? Nope, didn't think so.
