Computer turns on then off after a second, PSU?

Hey everyone, This started happening 2 days ago. After I hit the power switch the computer will turn on, then turn off after a second. Once it turns off, it waits a couple seconds and automatically tries again. This cycle continues on/off. Sometimes it stays on for 2-3 seconds before rinse/repeat on auto.

All components turn on and off. I've taken everything out and reinstalled with no luck. The computer will sometimes do it's thing and come on completely working fine. But after another shut down it usually starts again.

Anyone have ideas? I'm suspecting PSU, because I just got a new Mobo/Ram/CPU (Been working fine for a month or so)

It's your board most likely, happens to me every once in a while.

I tried 2 psus and it still happens, but I'm too lazy to RMA. For me it's only once every couple days.

So you think this mobo died after a month of being new?

I've tested the PSU with the paperclip trick in the ATX connector. The PSU turns on, but it appears that the original lights are much dimmer. Additionally, the Power switch on the back of the PSU used to light up, now it doesn't.

I also tried connecting the PSU directly to the mobo with nothing else attached. (CPU/Mem/mobo only) I pressed the power button directly on the mobo and it did the same thing. On and instantly off, wait a couple seconds, and it does it again.

So i know it's not a short or a faulty power switch. It's either the mobo or the PSU at this point. It's not the CPU overheating as the temps have been extremely low while running prior to this and the heatsink hasn't moved.

I'm gonna go buy a PSU tomorrow to test. I'm thinkin it's the PSU cause I could have sworn the back power button light on the PSU used to light up and now it doesn't. I checked the mobo and don't see any capacitors that look busted/colored/domed.

mine does this if i have overclock settings wrong. anything outside of optional will do this. its suposed to do this on my board. try going into bios ater you clear comos. unplug p/s and remove battery works also. then set bios to factory defaults and se what happens
