Can't find motherboard for Phenom II 975?

I can't seem to find any motherboards that would be compatible with this part. Ideally, I'd be looking for a microATX single PCI express board.

I even went to the ASUS site and used their support menu and selected "CPU" and only the Phenom 970 was listed. Similar problems with MSI's site.

It'll still more than likely work. It's the same as other AMD Phenom II X4 processors. Just slightly higher clock.

Here's a good board:

I would say that probably all AM2+ and almost/if not ALL AM3 board will work just fine with this CPU... it is one of AMD's newest releases so the manufacturers just haven't updated there websites is my bet.

Well, the thing is my board, M3N78-VM, has the Phenom 965 in it. According to ASUS, it doesn't support the Phenom II 970 or Phenom II 975, yet an almost identical board, the ASUS M3N78-EM does support the Phenom II 970. The Phenom II 965 and the Phenom II 975 are both 125 watt chips with a similar architecture.

Anyone have any ideas what is going on here with ASUS?

marketing, like that commercial wherer the dude is selling tires with 0 death crystals, theyll charge u up the *** for a "feature" you already have.
AM3 = AM3 125w = 125w no difference whatsoever, unless the re-vamped the arch (which they didnt) since all XX5 series are just higher clocked versions of other procs u should be fine.

You should send an e-mail to ASUS and double check. Usually they're very good about updating the list. Just strange this time around.

Unfortunately. Usually when I correspond with their "technicians" the extent of their knowledge and expertise amounts to them looking on their own website and telling me what I've already read.

In fact, one of their level 3 technicians once told me that I could only flash an SLI motherboard's BIOS five times. Not a huge amount of confidence in persons who make statements of that nature.

I'm just concerned that if the BIOS doesn't know what the chip is, it might screw up. I already know my computer will not run a Phenom II 965 overclocked to 3.5 GHz with any stability.

Still like some feedback on my ASUS M3N78-VM issue though.
