Mystery Keyboard

This keyboard is somewhat of a mystery to me as it has tactile feedback switches but is it mechanical? What type of switches does this have? Anybody know? http://www.lightinthebox.com/Samsung-Authenic-Keyboard-QSENN-DT-35-Black-White_p42519.html

It's rubber dome, and popular among Korean starcraft players because it's pretty much a cheap, readily available board there (like five dollars). It's way overpriced in North America, nothing special about it. tongue.gif

Still makes me wonder why it is tactile, must be scissor switches.

yep thats not a mechanical. the main reason its so popular is because it was so common in korean computer shops when the starcraft boom happened. so professional players who got used to it, decided not to switch keyboards even until now. so really, theres nothing special about it.

No, it's just plain old rubber dome. Nothing tactile about it. The product page says

Spill Resistant Membrane Switch

Which is just that. A rubber dome. It's just trying to market it better than it is.

The reviews at the bottom of the page must be misleading because they are saying it has a clicky sound. must be the oversized keys bottoming out.

Rubber domes are tactile.

It's a beautiful example of how people are like sheep. Those things are used by Korean Starcraft players for the sole purpose that they are cheap and readily available. People in the US/Europe see them and are like "ZOMG I MUST HAVE ONE TO BE PRO STARCRAFT PLAYER", and thus they are imported and sold for several times more than what they originally cost. All for something equivalent to a Wallmart or Tesco keyboard.
