And Win7 is far more expensive - though the service pack is free... Well, in this country, downoading the SP will bork the monthly cap, when they start kicking in the giant metering fees (unless they just drop you for excessive downloading).

Thats another thing I give to apple, their OS's are dirt cheap. Unfortunately the only way to take advantage of the crazy prices is to buy a mac (or hackintosh but thats technically illegal). In the end apple still wins

Oh, so you're saying that Windows 7 only provided 64bit compatibility to the rest of Vista and some bug fixes? Didn't know that....

Hmm, I didn't recall snow leopard being a full OS oh wait, it was the equivalent of a SP from windows. Gez, I thought a bunch of techies would understand that but I've been wrong before.

I don't get what the difference between Personal Hotspot and Tethering is. Either way, if you have to pay to use it, it's useless.

MyWi ftw.

You know I could technically call Windows 7 a service pack? Back around release a lot of people were calling it one(i for one was). How about Windows ME? Same story no?

Get off your high horse, Microsoft is just as guilty of it.

Thats neat some of this is being made official... but its a useless update for people who have a jailbroken phone. This will be way easier to wait for than 3.0 was lol

Well... usually tethering just allows you to use it through USB. Personal hotspot will turn it into a wifi connection and others can connect to it. Which MyWi already does both, it even has bluetooth. Useless features are useless

Its freaking amazing how we cant have a apple thread w/o any bashing.

There products sell well, look well and work well. People are ready to pay more to get nice aesthetics. If you had the money, or were willing to sacrifice some money, would you get a aesthetics pleasing car, or just some random make. Whats you point again?

This update is all about catchup to JB. Not complaining tough. Its nice to have them build in the OS.

For those saying its no better than google, think again...almost all of those features have been in Android since Froyo, last May. The fact that not all phones have gotten said froyo itsn't Google's fault. They only push updates directly to the Nexus One and S. For everyone else, its' the manufactureres and carriers that bog it down Google actually releases updates often every couple weeks. 2.3.3 just dropped Thursday which adds Near Field Communication technology. I don't think apple has started thinking about that yet.

These features have been out since 2009, especially the hotspot deal (MyWi). Well for the iphone anyway. Most features made my iphone 3G start to run sluggish, and I think that's why apple has waited to add all the features. Since I've had my iPhone 4 with verizon the speed is great, i've loaded it with tweaks/utilities and its still blazing fast.
