New OC/Help

Thread Starter
Hi i am a new user here, i didnt know exactly where to post my overclock questions so i thought off topic is my safest best.

My comp spec are as follows:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3R
Cpu: Intel i5 2500 (not the K version)
Ram: DDR3 1600
HD: 500gb sata
GPU: HD 6870 saffire
PS: 700watt

Pretty much wondering if i can overclock this, i have a stock cooler etc everything is stock. Also i am aware of the sata degrade for sata2 ports, i only use the 2 sata 3 ports on my MB, if anyone was gonna comment on it.

Any help would be much appreciated. As i am new and very noob at OC, but i really want to start to learn as much as i can about it, i have done some reasearch but not getting enough info as i would like.

Wow past a year and still nobody responded to you...

Well if you still have stock cooling then you shouldn't be overclocking your system, but if you don't have stock cooling anymore here are some good guides for overclocking:

Overclocking 101 - Part 1 Introduction
Overclocking 101 - Part 2 The BIOS
Overclocking 101 - Part 3 - The Torture Tests

Happy overclocking! thumb.gif
