should i go high end 1366 (gigabyte g1assasin + 990X) or get 1155 top and upgrade cpu to ivy bridge 1155?

A 1366 setup would cost you like 1k more for a very similar performing 1155 setup. I would go 1155 and then upgrade to the Ivy when the time is right. Save your money!

get the new revision 1155 boards and just get a 2500k..save up for what IB is and invest on a good GPU..

1155, x58 chips are better folders more pci-e lanes but after that the power draw, My rig 400 watts 1155 is 200 watts. @ same overclock. SO 1155 wins

If you doing HD video or animation, go 1366, everything else is 1155/1156
