SSD choices - Page 2

For an OS drive that C300 would be great, only 75MB/sec writes, but for an OS that is not a problem as very few writes should be occuring. there are good install guides on the web to maximize your enjoyment! I just got a MicroCenter brand (pretty sure it is an A-Data) 64gb ssd sandforce 1222 controller 280MB/sec read and 270MB/sec write and i love it.

almost ready to push the button on a C300, it looks like it will be the best.

Any idea how long intel g3 will take to get released?

Off the top of my head, I don't recall the exact speeds, though they were rather brisk. However, if speed is your #1 concern, I know that no other current or immediately known SATA III SSD is faster than the Vertex 3s.

Do not buy OCZ, bunch of swindling crooks. They tried to hide the fact that they started using the new 25nm process in their vertex 2's which cut their costs but also cut performance and lifespan of the harddrive. Nothing was said. Then when they got caught with their pants down THEN they decided to come out with it and offer anyone that wanted a refund/replacement to the older/better 34nm version.

I suggest what I have, the G.Skill Phoenix.

That's something to consider too. I remember hearing about this over the last few days.

They're good dependable drives. Nothing special, though there are certainly worse. My buddy has had one as his main OS drive for over a year and so far hasn't had any issues. Of course, he's but one guy.

Really? Do you have any links I/we could read more about particular issues?
