Can't get ram to speed

Hi

I have a problem, I can't get my DDR2 ram to run faster than 400mhz, when it's 800mhz DDR2!

This is my setup.

I'm really happy with the CPU speed and Temp. but the Ram is lagging when it could go twice the speed!

My system is running stable at this speed, but I wouldn't mind if anyone could help me get some more juice out of my system.

I have purchased a Asetek LCLC water cooling system from a well known auction website and the result was astonishing, 15 degrees cooler than with standard heatsink and fan.
If I don't overclock the CPU it runs at 20 degrees (room temperature). Not sure if that is good to run it to cold, is it?

My motherboard doesn't let me do a lot, hopefully someone can help me get my RAM up to speed.

Any ideas welcome.

Thanks for reading.

Where are you getting the 400mhz figure from?

Software?

DDR is called double data rate for a reason.

That's probably because it's generic RAM..

And btw.... If you see 400Mhz on CPU-Z, that means it's running on 800Mhz, because it's DDR2, which means Double Data Rate 2. Since it's double, you have to multiply the speed by x2

EDIT:

Guy on top beat me to it >.<

Arg. 400mhz is 800mhz ddr2 double data rate. 400X2 = 800mhz.
Owell i hope u get point.

when I set the FSB to 200 then the Ram runs at 200mhz, in order for the Ram to run higher I need to up my FSB to 250 to then get 400mhz.

I should be able to change the Ram without changing the FSB setting No?!

Ok thanks for replies, I take it the Ram is running at it's best then.

Any ideas as for the rest? Could I possibly get better results with the CPU?
Has anybody got any experience overclocking it?
or should I just be happy with what I have already?!

It's not possible to get DDR2 at 400MHz unless you seriously underclock your FSB. Entry level for any FSB is 266, which is DDR 2 533 (2x266).

You're already at 800, like everyone else said, it's 400MHz clock at double data rate = DDR2 800.
