Official Graphics Card Timeline

Thread Starter

There's nothing in the world that interests and excites me in the same specific, deep way as graphics cards and the GPU market.

In the spirit of sharing my knowledge and my experience over the past 5 years.. and me having tremendous fun, I've compiled this list.

I hope it stands as a faithful representation of the industry, and a tool towards understanding this unique world.

I hope to update this thread with everything pertaining to the GPU universe.

I really thought there would be more interest for this.

I worked on it for hours.

I think most individuals know that there isn't a solid representation of when a new card will come out and may find that 'forecasting' future releases is a waste of time (why worry about the future).

Great work on the chart though, it's obvious you spent a lot of time on it but it's hard to say if it holds any weight at all.

I've got an in-law that's a PM for Nvidia and he's made it clear multiple times that even Nvidias timelimes change within their own expectations.

It's only partly as exclamation of the future.

As the title says, it's merely a timeline. I think it's valuable to any community, seeing that not one exists in the entirety of the internet.

dont forget to mention the HD2900XT's power consumption! one of the most power hungry single GPUs in history!

BUT HOW COULD YOU FORGET
THE ALMIGHTY 8800GT?????
THE SEXY GTX275?

you just cant have a high end GPU graph without those cards! its almost blasphemy!

ive owned both of those cards and a 4890, and they are all worthy cards! plz add them!
especially the 8800GT. that card is like god. but with a PCB.
