You only need 1GB if you're gaming on more than one monitor, and you're not.

Don't see much reason to go with the 560 at this point with 460 prices.

Not bad... Prices on GTX 460 1GB seem to be going up. Used to be able to snag one for ~$185 w/o rebates.

If you're going to spend $180 AR, why not spend $195 AR?

Why don't people EVER listen?

The other poster's link confirms that you have NO REASON to get the 1GB version.

And even if you did, we're talking a 75% increase in price here!

Just get this and let me regain my sanity:

Yes, like I've been saying, HD 6950 is a good deal, but not when you can get GTX 460 768MB for 106$.

And why are you recommending the 2GB version for his 1080p screen?

I can see his future. And in his future he has Eyefinity with 3x 1080P screens.

Having the 6950 2GB now will allow him to CFX another 6950 2GB later and have enough power/memory for it.

You must be talking about his distant future, seeing as he has one 22" and one 24".

And even if you were actually right, by the time he gets three identical screens, the HD 6950 CF won't be able to power current games at that resolution, despite having enough vRAM.

Your thought process is too linear.

It's simple. It really depends on your goal.

If you want to play newer games on high quality on max res with good frame rates, get a 6950 1GB for $224 AR.

If you want to save some money, deal with lower quality to achieve playable frame rates, get a GTX 460 768MB for $108 AR. Track is right, even though the GTX 460 1GB is better (not just because 768mb vs 1gb, but also 192bit vs 256bit) - it's certainly not even close to the best value (or worth the $200 asking price).
