Whats the point of Minecraft?? - Page 4

Far as I can tell it's really only good for A: Building doom fortresses(OR other similar static creations), and blowing them up. I wouldn't trade Gmod for it, that's for sure.

Even with my who bought Minecraft right when it released, I've yet to be on it for more than 5 minutes.

I signed onto my friends server not even for 10 seconds and got bored.

I'm not artistic one bit so maybe that's why

It brings back your childhood memories of playing with LEGOs and how you wish you had Minecraft instead

I know this topic is old but I was wondering the original poster's question too. I used to play with LEGO (that's right, LEGO is it's own plural, like sheep) but would usually stick to making the finished model pictured on the box. Nowadays I enjoy playing all the LEGO games since LEGO Star Wars. Way more fun than Minecraft

Same here. I got bored with Minecraft almost immediately. People said "No, you're giving up on it too soon, play some more." But I think we're just very objective orientated, and playing with virtual blocks is nowhere as fun as the real thing.

I got a decent amount of gameplay out of minecraft. Part of the fun is not always using the wiki immediately for everything. Take a bit to explore. Pretend you don't have the internet at all. Everything about this game is old school.

I can't play it nearly as much as some people do, but the following kept me busy for HOURS
Step 1) Early shelter, boxes, workbench, tools, cooked food
Step 2) Explore to find perfect spot for a long term house/castle/boat/underwaterglassfortress/treehouse/etc
Step 3) Weapons, armor, tools, ALL DIAMOND
Step 4) Work on step 2 and 3 as you please until you get bored with the game

I had enough fun just exploring the caves that hunting for materials wasn't so bad.
