Nice looking motherboard. Silly stickers.

I like how the memory slots alternate.

What's that AM3+?
I got the same MB, and yes you perfectly summed up my thoughts when I was giving it a look over myself Lol.

Im kinda with you on this one, but depending on the price point these BD boards and chips come out the gate with, if I can only afford the chip at the time at least I will be able to use it. Then get the better board when cash willing. But back to my earlier post. Im not getting my hopes up until I actual see 8xx boards running BD.

Does this mean my 790FX will be backwards compatible with a BIOS update?

I believe this is one of MSI's new and only one of two, 8+2 phase motherboards right?

That's a Big Bang Conqueror
a.k.a. not your standard 990FX
Special Intel LGA1366 boards also had these 2x 8 pin connectors, which were totally unnecessary

Saw this coming, from a mile away. I couldn't see AM3+ being so radical from AM3 that some support couldn't be possible. It's the same base, how can you not make it compatible. I know you can probably come up with a scenario, I was just still willing to bet that the AM3+ crap was BS. Now we know, it's BS.

EDIT: Got the answer to my question. AM3 has one less pin than the AM3+ socket...

If SILC bios mods are any indication of what can be done, I think it will be easy to give AM3 boards BD support.
