like JF said, if BD was AM3 compatible, I can't see why AMD wouldn't have said it.. maybe cuz they wanna sell new mobo, but then they would be more intel and less amd

If AM3 boards are going to support BD, than for how long has the AM3 been out and how many sockets has Intel made in the same time?

AMD has always been backwards compatible with previous sockets so please tell it'll work as if I have to sell up I might as well go to Intel..
You need to ask your motherboard vendor.

So by that comment you guys are planning backwards compat it's just up to the motherboard vendors to patch in BIOS support?
No, there are different sockets for bulldozer. But motherboard compatibility is not AMD's responsibility, it's the motherboard vendor's.
May I also remind people of the ASUS M2N SLI thread? Stupidly old motherboards running Phenom 2's?

I'd love if somehow a BD CPU will work in an AM3 Motherboard, but either way, I'm going to end up buying a BD CPU.

I wanted a CPU that could destroy my 1090t. If BD would've worked with my CH IV, I would've kept it, but since it wasn't going to, I just got the 2600k, which does, indeed, destroy my 1090t.
