Not really surprising considering they're going from two cores to four cores...

The UK price for a top-spec 15" is £6 less than I paid for last year's model even though VAT went up from 15% to 20% this year.

Glad to see them using quad core processors though I'm somewhat concerned about battery life and heat considering the processors are rated as being 10W higher TDP than the CPUs previous Macbook Pros have used.

It's nice that they have some kind of high speed connection with thunderbolt but a total lack of USB3 is shocking for a high-end 2011 notebook.

Would much rather have the option of putting a second hard drive or extended battery in the space that useless DVD drive takes up. Surprised it isn't an option considering they have dropped the drive with the Macbook Airs.
