This new monitor will work with a combination of different wireless technologies. Using magneto-induction technology, the monitors will be able to work in specially designed hotspots by just placing the monitor on it – think of inductive chargers like the HP TouchStone or Powermat, now make it bigger and increase the energy output so that it can fit the base of the monitor and power it at the same time
I'm surprised Samsung didn't beat them to the punch

Too bad Eyefinity wouldn't work with this, too many cables coming off these things.

I don't get it. If the monitor has to be placed on these 'hotspots', I don't see how it matters that they are wireless. I mean, what's great about wireless technology is the mobility, but if the monitor has to stand on a charger, what's the point

Exactly what I was thinking too.
If the monitor gets its power and display signal from this "mat" and the "mat" is plugged into the wall and into the back of a PC and the monitor only works when it is placed on to this "mat" . . . . . . whats the point? Am I missing something?/?
Its gunna be just like the monitor I haz right now, but like 10X more expensive. (Im over Exaggerating)

Also I really didn't like those "Wireless" charging mats to charge cell phones and what ever either. Im not too lazy to take an extra 1 SECOND to plug in the cord to the side of my phone.

Once I can charge my phone and/or use my monitor accross the room ( For what ever reason I would actually want to use my monitor accross the room) . . . . . That will be a whole different story. But for now the "wireless technology is pointless.

/Rant Sorry for that guys.
