Crysis 2 Demo To be on Steam tomorrow [Download link inside] - Page 57

Okay, So I built my PC a few days ago. (good change from a macbook) And one of the first things I wanted to do was play the Crysis 2 demo. So I did! I leveled up to the highest rank. And...

These are my thoughts.
-Contrast is very high, especially in the Skyline map. It makes it harder to spot enemies and harder on the eyes.
-Detail on hardcore settings, 1080p is okay. Not bad, not the best. But for Dx9, its decent. Much better than consoles at least. Can't wait for the Dx11 patch/update if their will be one (eek!).
- Gameplay is very console-like. It doesn't mean its not playable, but it nothing special being a PC version.
- You can rank up to the highest level in one afternoon, that being rank #10. It took about 5 hours for me. And after that, the upgrades are few for the customizable character, and they are hard to get. In other words, not very customizable, all you do is choose your primary weapon, and nano suit specialities. (you can add attachments and choose secondary weapon, grenade/flashbang, but theirs not much variety to choose from).
Which is basically is like choosing either assault, scout, sniper, or gunner. So...
-Most servers are out of the US. Out of about 950, which is the average amount of servers worldwide. About 12 are in the US. And they rarely are working, It always gets stuck while waiting for players loading so people just chat random stuff then leave. I have no problem with other servers (Japan, Germany), I live in Texas btw.
-Shots you fire while in stealth mode don't do damage.

Overall, I liked the demo. I haven't gamed in about a year. So this was a fresh start. But Im left wanting more in the end.

I agree, I mainly play PS3 games, but obviously play PC as well. Crysis felt like a PC game. Crysis 2 feels like a console port. It is. "press start to continue" was a bad sign. Gamespy account...what the hell? I made up like 12 usernames and finally got one to work with a spam email. Kind of annoying way to start a demo.

The demo itself was fine, but no servers in the US made it hard to find a game I had confidence in playing with minimal lag, luckily there were really no big issues, other than the fact that I only played one map today. It was overall a good game, but DX9 shows, and that patch better be awesome.

I heard rumors the demo is a console port and the final version isn't? Is this true?

Also there are hacks already out for the demo. Seen a ton of cheaters.. make me rage so bad.
