Troubleshoot sig rig

Thread Starter
So I walk into my dorm today, turn on my computer as usual, and the monitor is just showing the Acer logo. I assumed it was still in sleep mode, so I restarted it, and it doesn't want to get any video from the video card or something. I checked the DVI cables, even tried the onboard video, after resetting the CMOS. Still cant get any picture. I can't tell if it's the video card, BIOS, monitor, or anything else.
It still boots fine, if I leave it for 30 seconds I can hear the Windows sound when you log on.
I've also tried with 1 stick of memory.

Sounds like your monitor is not being read by your computer. Maybe the dvi connector on the monitor is burnt or busted or was pulled on too hard.

Edit : Also, try borrowing a monitor from a friend and see if his works with your computer.

Yes, trying a different monitor or video card seems to be your best bet, OR it could be the wiring. I think it's the monitor and the settings. Could it be that someone played with the monitor menu settings?

Im in a dorm, everyone has laptops lol. Trying to find a DVI to VGA adapter though so I can at least see if the connection to the monitor burnt out. If anything the monitor might be in demo mode? Its a P191W. No idea how to mess with it. The settings dont even show up when I push the buttons
