i'd say go with the 5850. greater OC capability AND overall performance. the 6850 performs somewhere between the 5830 and 5850 and from most reviews, it OCs less than the 6870 which performs slightly better than the 5850, give or take a few FPS. again, if you can get both for the same price, go with the 5850. just my opinion.

Go with the GTX 460 it overclocks like no other! I know a friend that has a 5850 and he said it does not heat up as much as the GTX 460 though. Both good cards but if you have the CASH go with the 5850.

The 6850 will consume less power and run cooler, i'd say get the 6850. Plus, since the 6850 uses less power, you can get another one in the future for some awesome crossfire performance.

For a single card solution the 5850 would be the better choice; it's also 3-8% difference from 5870 clock-for-clock.

If they are the same price it's hard to go past the 5850, performance is definitely better.
